Silyanka - Ukrainian ethnic jewelry. The name Silyanka comes from the manufacturing method. "Stringing" is a method of stringing beads on a thread. Narrow (two-three centimeters) silyanka, women and girls, wore daily as a charm. The power of the charm was determined by the ornament. A beaded ribbon with a protective ornament was sometimes sewn onto a red "garasivka" braid to strengthen the amulet.
The traditional ornament of beaded jewelry was a geometric rhombus with simple or complicated contours, a triangle with horns - branches at the corners.
Festive silyankas were wider, openwork, decorated with loops of beads along the lower edge.
