Sanjay Lele’s brother-in-law, Rajesh Kadam, who is the Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) Deputy District Chief, was informed of the incident by Lele’s son, Harshal. Kadam immediately contacted several authorities and eventually received confirmation of Lele’s death. Accompanied by MP Shrikant Shinde’s team, Rajesh Kadam rushed to Srinagar. He describes the emotional and tense atmosphere, yet also recalls how locals and officials—from taxi drivers to railway authorities—offered immense support.
