Siblings Geeta and Sanjay were abducted by Kuljeet Singh (Ranga) and Jasbir Singh (Billa). Despite being initially kidnapped for ransom, the kidnappers learned that their father was a naval officer and presumed he couldn't pay. Tragically, the children were murdered. Ranga and Billa were arrested weeks later and found guilty of murder, kidnapping, and sexual assault. They were sentenced to death and executed in 1982. The case garnered widespread attention, with Prime Minister Morarji Desai being involved. The victims were posthumously honored with the Kirti Chakra award, and bravery awards in their names were instituted for children under 16. This case remains a grim reminder of the brutality of certain crimes and the pursuit of justice that followed.
