The 4E-Parent Policy Roundtable on fatherhood and paternity leave explored progress and ongoing challenges in implementing equitable leave policies. It emphasized the importance of engaging fathers in caregiving, addressing workplace gender norms, and ensuring paternity leave is accessible and culturally accepted. Discussions highlighted the benefits of shared caregiving responsibilities, including improved child well-being and strengthened family dynamics. Participants also examined systemic barriers, such as stigma surrounding men taking leave and insufficient policy frameworks in certain regions. Successful models from various countries showcased how policy design, advocacy, and education can drive greater father involvement and promote gender equity in caregiving.
