I got a last minute permit for Bob Bear Trail! Just a little over two hours north of Phoenix is the famous destination for locals in summer. I started hiking at twelve in the afternoon. This is a bad time to start hiking as the trail is exposed to the sun. There were a lot of signs for caution along the way as this trail is a difficult one. Going down the creek was not hard but I was already expecting that coming back up will be difficult due to steepness. There were a lot of people heading back to the trailhead as I hike in, so I was expecting that the creek will be almost empty when I get there. I was amazed from the sight of the Fossil Spring and the clear water! I reached the Dam and Toilet Bowl at two in the afternoon and as I keep on going to where the cave is, there were only four people left. It was refreshing when I got in the water. Although I tried to get to the cave, I did not make it. I wish I had a small floatie with me to get in there. It was an amazing afternoon trip. Just outside Strawberry, I set up a camp and rest for the night.
