We are from the generation that kept hearing, "Stay silent, stay silent." But now that silence is breaking—homes are falling apart, relationships are being destroyed. Yet, fighting for rights is also necessary.
So, maintaining a balance has become extremely difficult. How are you managing it?
Commissioner: You are absolutely right. Whenever we hold an open court or handle cases, even young men write me letters or messages saying, "Madam, you always listen to women; there should be a men's commission too." They want their voices heard as well.
But I always try to stand by what is right. Sometimes, even women misuse their rights, thinking they hold all the power to take legal action in any way they want. However, such cases are rare in my experience.
Most cases that come to me are related to dowry, and while not every case is false, there are instances where people file complaints just to gain financial benefits. That doesn’t mean dowry harassment isn’t real—many genuine cases exist. But whenever I see injustice, I ensure that no false accusations are made. What's right is right"
