My story for UH Vs. UCSD: https://mathew21688.wixsite.com/my-site/uh-ucsd-2-22-25
The University of Hawaiʻi Men's Basketball team suffered its worst performance of the season with an 84-43 pummeling to first place UC San Diego Tritons at LionTree Arena in La Jolla, California on Saturday.
No Rainbow Warrior cracked double digits in the loss, as Ryan Rapp led all UH players with just nine points.
UH took an early 5-4 lead, but they fell victim to another long scoring drought of nearly eight whole minutes. The 'Bows were held to just 12 points scored for the rest of the first half while the Tritons motored away.
Despite committing five turnovers, UH still trailed badly, 42-17, at halftime.
Nothing improved at all in the second half, as UCSD continued to pour on the offense and defense on UH.
Despite this lopsided loss, there is still good news: Bakersfield fell to UC Irvine at home earlier this week, so UH still maintained seventh place in the standings
UH will return to the Stan Sheriff Center for their final two home games against UC Riverside on Thursday, Feb. 27, and against UC Davis on Saturday, Mar. 1. Both tipoffs are scheduled for 7 p.m. HST. You can listen to both games on ESPN Honolulu or watch on Spectrum Sports.
