আবহমান গ্রাম বাংলার হারিয়ে যাওয়া এই চিরচেনা দৃশ্য যেনো আমাদের ফেলে আসা দিনের স্মৃতি গুলো মনে করিয়ে দেয় বারবার। গ্রামীণ জনপদের বাসিন্দাদের জীবন ধারার বৈচিত্র্য এনেছে এই সপ্তাহিক হাট বাজার। এমনি এক গ্রামীণ হাট ধারা বাজার এটি বাংলাদেশের ময়মনসিংহ জেলার হালুয়াঘাট উপজেলা জনপদের ধারা ইউনিয়নে অবস্থিত। সপ্তাহের প্রতি শুক্র এবং সোমবার দিন এখানে হাট বসে। শুক্রবার দিন ছোট হাট এবং সোমবার দিন গরুর ছাগলসহ বড় হাট বসে।দেশি বিদেশি বিভিন্ন জাতের হাঁস মুরগির জন্য বিখ্যাত এই গ্রামীণ হাট।
এটি রাজধানী ঢাকা থেকে প্রায় 140 কিলোমিটার উত্তরে বাংলাদেশের সীমান্তবর্তী একটি প্রত্যন্ত গ্রামীণ জনপদ। ভৌগলিক অবস্থান অনুযায়ী ধারা বাজারের উত্তরে হালুয়াঘাট ও জুগলি ইউনিয়ন, পশ্চিমে ধুরাইল ইউনিয়ন, দক্ষিণে আমতৈল ও কৈচাপুর ইউনিয়ন এবং পূর্বে স্বদেশী ও নড়াইল ইউনিয়ন অবস্থিত।
দেশের সীমান্তবর্তী এই জনপদের শতকরা প্রায় ৮০ শতাংশ মানুষই কৃষি কাজ করে জীবন ধারণ করে থাকেন। এই অঞ্চলের বেলে দোআঁশ মাটিতে ধান পাট সহ বিভিন্ন প্রকার মৌসুমী সবজির চাষ করে থাকেন গ্রামীণ কৃষকেরা। কৃষাণিরা প্রায় প্রতি বাড়িতেই পোষেন নানান জাতের হাঁস মুরগি। দেশের বিভিন্ন অঞ্চল থেকে এই হাটে হাঁস মুরগি কিনতে আসেন পাইকাররা। এই হাটের বেশিরভাগ হাঁস মুরগি সরবরাহ করা হয় রাজধানী ঢাকায়।
বিভিন্ন প্রকার টাটকা শাক-সবজি, হাঁস মুরগি, গরু ছাগল, মাছ মাংস সহ নিত্য প্রয়োজনীয় প্রায় সকল প্রকার জিনিসপত্র এই হাটে কিনতে পাওয়া যায় খুবই কম মূল্যে।
গ্রামীণ জনপদের প্রাচীন ঐতিহ্যকে ধারণ করে এখনো টিকে আছে অপরূপ সুন্দর এই গ্রামীণ হাট ধারা বাজার।
Abhaman village is a lost sight of Bengal that reminds us again and again of the memories of the days left behind. The weekly haat bazaar has diversified the lifestyle of the rural township dwellers. It is a rural market in Dhara Bazar, located in Dhara Union of Haluaghat Upazila Township of Mymensingh District, Bangladesh. A market is held here every Friday and Monday of the week. Small haat on Friday and big haat with cows and goats on Monday. This rural haat is famous for domestic and foreign varieties of poultry.
It is a remote rural township bordering Bangladesh about 140 km north of the capital Dhaka. According to geographical location, Haluaghat and Jugli Unions are located to the north of Dhara Bazar, Dhurail Union to the west, Amoil and Kaichapur Union to the south and Swadeshi and Narail Union to the east.
About 80 percent of the people of this town on the border of the country live by doing agricultural work. The rural farmers cultivate various types of seasonal vegetables including paddy and jute in the sandy loam soil of this region. Farmers keep different types of poultry in almost every house. Wholesalers come from different parts of the country to buy poultry at this market. Most of the poultry in this market is supplied to the capital Dhaka.
Various types of fresh vegetables, poultry, cattle, goats, fish, meat and almost all kinds of daily necessities can be bought in this market at very low prices.
This rural haat dhara bazaar still survives the ancient tradition of the rural town.
