In Chapter One of The Holy Science, titled "The Gospel," Swami Yukteshwar Giri explains the concept of creation according to the Vedas and the stages of manifestation. He emphasizes that the Supreme Being (God) created the universe out of His own consciousness and energy. This creation unfolds through three main bodies:
Causal Body (Karan Sharir) – The realm of pure ideas and consciousness, representing the first manifestation of creation.
Subtle Body (Sookshma Sharir) – The second stage, consisting of energy and pranic life forces, bridging the causal and physical worlds.
Physical Body (Sthool Sharir) – The gross physical form, representing the material universe.
Swami Yukteshwar draws parallels between the Vedic teachings and the Bible, showing that the essential truths about God, creation, and the soul are universal. He describes how AUM (Om), the sacred sound, represents the creative power of God, and how through meditation and Kriya Yoga, one can experience the unity between the soul and the Divine.
The chapter also discusses Prakriti (Nature) and Purusha (Soul), explaining that all material forms are transient, but the soul is eternal. By transcending attachment to the physical world, one can realize the true self and unite with the Supreme.
