1. Mixed daal : 1cup
2. Turmeric powder : 1/4 tsp
3. Kashmiri red chilli powder: 1 tsp
4. Cumin seed powder : 1/2 tsp
5. Clove : 3 nos
6. Cardamoms : 2 nos
7. Cinnamon : 2 pieces
8. Salt : 2 tsp
9. Water : 2 cups
With high flame make one whistle, then with low flame boil the daal for 5 minutes. Turn off the gas. Open the lid and check. Now take a kadai and add:
10. Ghee: 2 tbsp
11. Finely chopped onion : 2 nos, little fry for 2 minutes and add:
12. Finely chopped ginger : 1 tbsp
13. Finely chopped garlic : 1 tbsp
14. Green chilli : 4 nos
Fry them for another 2 minutes. Now add:
15. Tomato, chopped : 2 nos
16. Kashmiri red chilli powder : 1/2 tsp
17. Cumin seed powder : 1/4 th tsp
18. Turmeric powder : little bit
19. Salt : little bit
Cover it for 2 minutes and cook on low flame, now add boiled daal, mix them well, add 1 and 1/2 cup hot water, now cover and boil it for 5 minutes. Open the cover and sprinkle kasuri methi powder and coriander leaves. Keep the daal aside. Now take one tarka pan, and add:
20. Ghee : 1 tsp, heat it up.
21. Red chilli : 2 nos
22. Chopped ginger : 1 tbsp
With low gas flame, fry them 1 and 1/2 minutes. Now add this tadka in the daal, cover it for 5 to 10 minutes and serve.
