In Borshchahivka, near Kyiv, local officials are running a cynical scheme to profit from kindergartens. At the heart of it is village head Oleksii Kudryk. The village council essentially gave away land for next to nothing, which businesses then used to build residential complexes and kindergartens. The community has been buying these kindergartens at inflated prices. Who benefits? Clearly, Kudryk, whose family has gained substantial assets.
