二人袴 あらすじ
今日は聟入り（結婚後、妻の実家に初めて挨拶に行く事）の日。舅の家では準備を整え、聟が来るのを心待ちにしている。一方の聟は、一人で行くのは心細いからと父親に舅の家の門前まで付き添われてやってくる。聟に礼装の長袴をはかせてやり、父は表で待っていたのだが、太郎冠者に見つけられてしまい、父親も舅に挨拶することになってしまう。しかし、長袴は一つだけ。さて、この親子はどうやってこの場を切り抜けるのか…。
Two People in One Hakama ( Original title : Futaribakama ) Story
It’s a nice day, so a father-in-law is waiting impatiently for his son-in-law to visit him. Enter the son-in-law, looking very auspicious in a kimono with a red and white border. His father has decided to go most of the way with him as going alone would be embarrassing. He lets his son put on some formal long hakama trousers, and they set off. Taroukaja notices that the son-in-law’s father has come too, and invites them both to come in. However, the pair hadn’t intended to do so, and only have one pair of formal hakama. They try to go in one at a time, but are implored to come in together. They come up with an idea: tear the hakama in two, wear the halves in front of themselves like aprons, and try to trick everyone by making it seem like they are both wearing hakama. They end up having a banquet. When the son-in-law is asked to entertain everyone with a dance, will he be able to get away with it? Enjoy watching the naive son-in-law and his overprotective father, the well-intentioned and kind mother-in-law, and Taroukaja in this lively play.
