ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಉದ್ಯೋಗ ಖಾತ್ರಿ ಒದಗಿಸಿದ ಸದಾಶಿವ

The tale of Sadashiva is the tale of Honnakiranagi, a village in Kalburgi. Years ago, a vast area of land was set aside here for a thermal power plant. But the project never took off. All that remains is the barren land, scorching sun, desperate people and the shade called MGNREGS. Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Development Employ Scheme was the last resort of Sadashiva, that breathed life as much into his crushed soul as the barrenness of Honnakiranagi. Now as many as 1,15,000 workers are employed under MGNREGS while planting 40,000 trees in the happy land. ಹೊನ್ನ ಕಿರಣಗಿ ಎನ್ನುವ ಒಂದೂರು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಬರಬೇಕಿದ್ದ ಉಷ್ಣ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ಕಾರ್ಖಾನೆಗೆಂದು ಊರಿನವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಮಾರಿದರು. ಮುಂದೆ ಕಾರ್ಖಾನೆಯೇನೋ ಬರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಕಷ್ಟದ ಜೀವನ ಎದುರಾಯಿತು. ದುಡಿಯಲು ಭೂಮಿ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಮಾಡಲು ಕೆಲಸ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಇಂಥಾ ಯಾತನಾಮಯ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ, ದಿಕ್ಕೆಟ್ಟವರು ಅನೇಕರು. ಸದಾಶಿವ ಇಂಥವರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬರು. ಆಗ ಅವರ ಕೈಹಿಡಿದದ್ದು ಮಹಾತ್ಮ ಗಾಂಧಿ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಉದ್ಯೋಗ ಖಾತರಿ ಯೋಜನೆ. ಇಂದು ನಲವತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರ ಗಿಡಗಳನ್ನೇ ತಮ್ಮ ಕುಟುಂಬ ಎಂದು ಭಾವಿಸಿ ಬದುಕುತ್ತಿರುವ ಇವರ ಸಾಹಸದ ಕಥನ ಇದು.
