قد تنجح السعودية في عقد اتفاق تعايش روسي اميركي يشبه اتفاق ايران والسعودية.

قالت شبكة بي بي سي اليوم إن اختيار إدارة ترامب للسعودية كموقع لمحادثات رئيسية حول أوكرانيا يؤكد تقدم المملكة دبلوماسيًا. يُعقد الاجتماع في فندق ريتز كارلتون بالرياض، بعد ثلاث سنوات من تجميد العلاقات، وقبل أسبوع من الذكرى الثالثة للغزو الروسي لأوكرانيا، في وقت أثارت مكالمة ترامب مع بوتين الأسبوع الماضي اهتمام الأوساط الدبلوماسية.

أعلن ترامب أنه سيجتمع مع بوتين في السعودية، سعيًا لإنهاء الغزو الروسي لأوكرانيا. كما يبدو أن صورة ولي العهد محمد بن سلمان قد تحسنت دوليًا. دبلوماسيًا، عززت السعودية استقلالها خلال إدارة بايدن، مبتعدة عن الاعتماد على واشنطن، وساعية لعلاقات أوثق مع منافسيها، مثل روسيا والصين. لا شك أن السعوديين رحبوا بعودة ترامب، إذ كانت زيارته الخارجية الأولى في ولايته الأولى إلى السعودية، وتناسبت سياسته المعاملاتية مع القيادة الحالية.

من بين الإنجازات التي قد يسعى ترامب لتحقيقها اتفاق سلام بين السعودية وإسرائيل، استكمالًا لاتفاقيات إبراهيم، لكن حرب غزة أعاقت ذلك، وقد تزيد تكلفة مطالب السعودية. رفضت المملكة خطة ترامب لغزة، التي تضمنت إجلاء الفلسطينيين وإعادة بنائها كمنتجع، وسعت بالتالي إلى خطة بديلة مع الدول العربية، تُبقي سكان غزة بمكانهم وتؤدي إلى حل الدولتين.

لكن رؤية إدارة ترامب الحالية تتعارض مع ذلك، سواء في غزة أو الضفة الغربية، ما يجعل حل هذه القضية مفتاحًا للعلاقة بين السعودية والولايات المتحدة. من الواضح أن المملكة عازمة على ترسيخ دورها كقوة دبلوماسية عالمية.

Trump’s phone call with Putin last week has already sparked significant diplomatic interest.

Trump has announced that he will meet with Putin in Saudi Arabia in an effort to bring an end to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Meanwhile, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s international standing appears to have improved. Diplomatically, Saudi Arabia has strengthened its independence under the Biden administration, shifting away from reliance on Washington and pursuing closer ties with rivals such as Russia and China. There is no doubt that the Saudis welcomed Trump’s return, given that his first foreign visit in his initial term was to Saudi Arabia, and his transactional approach aligned well with the current leadership.

One of Trump’s potential achievements could be a peace agreement between Saudi Arabia and Israel, building on the Abraham Accords. However, the Gaza war has stalled this effort and may raise Saudi Arabia’s demands. The kingdom rejected Trump’s Gaza plan, which proposed evacuating Palestinians and rebuilding the area as a resort, instead working on an alternative plan with Arab nations that would keep Gaza’s residents in place and lead to a two-state solution.

However, the current Trump administration’s vision conflicts with this approach, both in Gaza and the West Bank, making the resolution of this issue a key factor in Saudi-U.S. relations. It is clear that the kingdom is determined to cement its role as a global diplomatic power.
