大相撲の大関・大の里（24＝二所ノ関部屋）が11日、東京・両国国技館で行われた優勝額贈呈式で大銀杏（おおいちょう）姿を初披露した。
大の里は23年夏場所で初土俵を踏み、同年秋場所で十両に昇進。しばらくは、ざんばらたったが、昨年4月の新小結昇進会見でまげ姿を披露した。その後もなかなか十分な髪の量を確保できず、7カ月経過したこの日朝、床二が30分かけて関取のシンボルを整えた。
晴れて“力士”となった大の里は「ここ数日で結えそうな感じになっていた。やっとできたかな、という感想。うれしいですね」と笑顔。優勝額贈呈式では九州場所優勝の琴桜と握手を交わし、「しっかり一日1番集中して頑張ります」と新春場所での奮闘を誓った。
