Today we'll highlight 4 cocktails that feature Licor 43, a Spanish liqueur that embodies centuries of tradition and flavor. The *Agircole Guava Cooler* from Smuggler's Cove is an excellent introductory drink to Rhum Agricole. *Beachbum's Own* is an original drink by Jeff the Beachbum Berry and of all the drinks today, this one showcases Licor 43 the most. *The Best Year* was a drink by Bobby Botuga from Tip's Restaurant in Valencia California. I'm adapting this into the *2nd Best Year* and subbing in Gin and homemade lime cordial. Finally, a variation of the Tradewinds by substituting the apricot liqueur for Licor 43.
Licor 43 is a Spanish vanilla liqueur that blends of warm vanilla, Mediterranean herbs, and subtle citrus notes. This liqueur's inspiration stretches back two thousand years to the city of Cartagena, Spain, where a golden elixir was first enjoyed by the Romans. Fast forward to 1946 when the Zamora family created the modern-day Licor 43 using 43 natural ingredients.

2 oz Bundaberg Guava Soda
2 dashes of Angostura bitters
¾ oz fresh lime juice
¾ oz Licor 43
2 oz Rhum Agricole Blanc
*Beachbum’s Own*
¾ oz fresh lemon juice (22.5 ml)
¾ oz unsweetened pineapple juice (22.5 ml)
¾ oz orange juice (22.5 ml)
¾ oz passion fruit puree (22.5 ml)
¾ oz Licor 43 (22.5 ml)
1 ¼ oz Demerara rum (37.5 ml)
1 ½ oz light Puerto Rican rum (45 ml)

2 oz pineapple juice (60 ml)
¾ oz Licor 43 (22.5 ml)
½ oz Blue Curacao (15 ml)
½ oz lime cordial (15 ml)
2 oz Plymouth Gin (60 ml)

3 ounces unsweetened pineapple juice
¾ ounce Licor 43
¾ ounce blue Curacao
¾ ounce lime cordial _recipe below_
2 ¼ ounces vodka
*Tropical Standard Lime Cordial*
250 grams lime juice
250 grams white sugar
12.5 grams lime peel
2.5 grams malic acid
5 grams citric acid
Simmer lime juice, white sugar and peel covered on low for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and let sit 6 hours. Strain and add in acids. Will keep 2 weeks in the refrigerator.

1 oz lemon juice (30 ml)
1 ½ oz Cream of Coconut
1 oz Licor 43 (30 ml)
1 oz Coruba rum (30 ml)
1 oz Chairman’s Reserve Rum (30 ml)
