Video Not Working? Fix It Now

Today I decided to visit Southern Cross Station in Victoria. Southern Cross station (Originally Spencer Street Station until 2006) is the main interchange for country and interstate passenger trains in melbourne along with it being the second busiest station in the state. It was first opened in 1859 and then slowly during the years more platforms were added along with the electrification of the suburban network, then in 1960 the station was rebuilt mostly due to the construction of the Melbourne to Sydney standard gauge line and the construction of the City Loop which was still being planned at the time. In 2002 the station then had its biggest rebuild, a new wavy roof was installed to cover the station, a 30 bay coach terminal, better passenger infomation, etc. Although from looking at how the station is today, it is much worse than it used to be. For example the building is falling apart, the passenger infomation displays never work 99% of the time, the lift and escalators are always broken and the station is just filthy (Thats what happens when you have a private corporation managing a big station like SCS) In this video we see general Metro & V/Line operations but we also see the Y class Pilot shunter operating, the Y class Pilot is used to shunt the carriages typically right after locomotive hauled services arrive into the station to take them back to the yard. I have filmed this video since July 2024 and I just finished filming it right before christmas 2024 Enjoy!
