কিংবদন্তি বাঙালি নির্মাতা সত্যজিৎ রায়ের ‘মহানগর’ চলচ্চিত্রের কথা নিশ্চয়ই আমাদের মনে আছে। সেই চলচ্চিত্রে পনেরো বছর বয়সের একটি ছোট মেয়ে অভিনয় করেছিলেন অনিল চ্যাটার্জি ও মাধবী মূখার্জির সঙ্গে। ছোট মেয়েটির ভূমিকায় ছিলেন বলিউডের বিখ্যাত অভিনয়শিল্পী জয়া ভাদুড়ি। জন্ম ভারতের মধ্যপ্রদেশের জব্বলপুরে হলেও তার পৈত্রিক নিবাস বাংলাদেশের নেত্রকোনার পূর্বধলা সদর ইউনিয়নের বাঘবেড় গ্রামে।
