Shri Veda Bharathi (SVB) is a public charitable trust working for the past two and half decades for preservation and propagation of Vedic Knowledge and carrying out research works related to sanskrit and vedas.
India owes its magnificent spiritual heritage to the Vedas. They are the storehouse of Indian wisdom and a great source of inspiration to mankind for millions of years. The concepts of Viswaneedam (Global Family) and Vasudhaivakutumbakam (whole world as one family) have emanated from the Vedas and are the soul of our Vedic heritage.
It is true that the Vedas have their main thrust on spiritual knowledge. At the same time, they have extensively dealt with several aspects of materialism in a balanced manner. This has led to blossoming of Arts and Sciences, capable of crafting the "perfect man".
Sage Veda Vyasa grouped the mantras into four Vedas as Rig, Yajur, Sama and Atharva and propagated through his disciples Paila, Vaisampayana, Jaimini and Sumantu, respectively. The four Vedas were said to have 1131 branches earlier. But now only 13 branches are traceable (viz., 1% only). Out of these 13 branches also, only 7 are being chanted at different parts of the country. The remaining are traceable in script form only. Even these branches may disappear if immediate steps are not taken to preserve them.
Formation of Shri Veda Bharathi (SVB)
Shri Veda Bharathi (SVB), which was conceived in 1992 as a historical necessity, commenced the work of preserving the available Vedic knowledge in audio and multimedia form in CDROMs/ DVDs. It was registered as a Public Charitable Trust subsequently (1994).
