Om is symbolic of the field, the energy, the truth underlying all reality. One of the most fascinating aspects of this infinite field is its property of recursion, of universes within universes. The universe appears (to those who experience it) to be a replica of the universe without (the cosmos). Science has not even scrapped the surface of such phenomena, with the closest being the 100 years of exploration into the nature of the atom, one that Einstein said was too spooky. Then Heisenberg articulated what has come to be known as the Uncertainty Principle that the position and velocity (complementary variables) of an object cannot both be measured exactly, at the same time, even in theory, that the very concepts of exact position and exact velocity together, in fact, have no meaning in nature and opened up a new field of physics known as quantum mechanics. But in the nearly 100 years since, experimental physicists believe that they have not really cracked the truth about the nature of all reality, the very thing that the Om represents.
