In my journey to build a vintage wardrobe, one of the main problems I've encountered is finding basic white blouses in vintage cuts and accurate fabrics. Because of their versatility as the fashionable silhouette changed, few true vintage blouses survive. Furthermore, rayon crepe—the most common blouse fabric in the 1940s—is rarely sold in anything but prints today. So when I found this white rayon challis for sale at an online deadstock fabric store, I was excited to make a more historically accurate vintage blouse.
