I recently visited the communist country of Cuba and saw firsthand how communism isn’t working ideally there. While exploring Havana, I learned from the locals that many try to flee to America. This journey is illegal and extremely dangerous. Many sail the sea in makeshift boats without professional knowledge, often resulting in harm. If caught, they are sent back to Cuba as criminals. Despite the risks, they feel it’s their only option because their current situation is so dire.
Hearing these stories was truly shocking. The disparity and poor living conditions drive many to attempt this perilous escape, clearly showing that the ideal of communism is just an idea.
