Synopsis: King Sahassadeja of Pangtal and his brother, Mulabalam, lead their armies to Lanka to help in the war against Rama.
Suddenly beset by doubt that his help will be welcome by Ravana, who is a good friend of Mulabalam but who has never asked Sahassadeja himself for assistance, the powerful 1000-headed king sends Mulabalam into Lanka to inform Ravana of his arrival. The overjoyed Ravana immediately comes out to welcome Sahassadeja, with his chief queen, Mandodari, and attendants in tow.
Still grieving the death of her son Indrajit, Mandodari neglects to give Sahassadeja a proper welcome, leading the prickly king to promptly orders his army to turn back. The panicking Ravana makes Mandodari prostrate herself before Sahassadeja, earning his forgiveness and promise to crush Rama's army with his own.
When the two sides meet on the battlefield, Rama's troops become terrified by Sahassadeja's thousand pairs of eyes and run away in all directions. Sahassadeja is upset to see only a few monkeys alongside the two human princes and orders his army to turn back.
Lakshmana and top monkey generals including Hanuman set out to round up the scattered troops. They run into Mulabalam and a one-on-one fight between Lakshmana and Mulabalam ensues, ending with Mulabalam slain by the prince's arrow.
Hanuman then goes off to lay a trap for Sahassadeja. Assuming the form of an ordinary white monkey, he tricks Sahassadeja into handing him his deadly weapon and promptly destroys it.
When Rama catches up with them, he decides not to slay Sahassadeja, instead ordering Hanuman to throw the demon king out of earth's orbit.
