Jan. 6 defendant Joe Fischer, ex-police officer, pardoned for role in U.S. Capitol insurrection
Lebanon County resident Joe Fischer, a former North Cornwall Twp. police officer, talks about his experience of being charged in the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, and of now being pardoned by President Trump.
Fischer was expected to go to trial in May 2025. His case’s resolution has taken so long because he spent two years fighting the applicability of the charge, “obstruction of an official proceeding” — making it up to the Supreme Court and winning.
