ইউক্রেন যুদ্ধ নিয়ে ট্রাম্প-পুতিন ফোনালাপের পর দুশ্চিন্তা বাড়ছে ইউরোপেরইউরোপের নেতাদের কাছে ট্রাম্পের শান্তি পরিকল্পনার জন্য প্রস্তুতি নেওয়ার পর্যাপ্ত সময় ছিল। কিন্তু এখন তারা ভাবছে, মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্র তাদের কথা শুনছে কি না কিংবা তাদের বার্তাগুলো পড়ছে কি না।বৃহস্পতিবার সকালে ন্যাটো সদর দপ্তরে পৌঁছানোর পর, ইউরোপের প্রতিরক্ষা মন্ত্রীরা একটি সাধারণ বার্তা দিয়েছিলেন ইউক্রেন এবং ইউরোপের উপস্থিতি ছাড়া ইউক্রেন সম্পর্কে কোনো আলোচনা সম্ভব নয়।প্রশ্ন হলো, যুক্তরাষ্ট্র কতটুকু শুনছে।বিবিসির প্রতিবেদনে বলা হয়, মার্কিন প্রেসিডেন্ট ডোনাল্ড ট্রাম্প বুধবার রুশ প্রেসিডেন্ট ভ্লাদিমির পুতিনের সঙ্গে এক "দীর্ঘ এবং অত্যন্ত ফলপ্রসূ" ফোনালাপে অংশ নিয়েছেন। উভয় নেতা ইউক্রেনের যুদ্ধের অবসান নিয়ে আলোচনা শুরু করার বিষয়ে সম্মত হন।মার্কিন ঘোষণার জন্য ইউরোপের নেতারা প্রস্তুত ছিলেন না। তারা শঙ্কিত,ইউক্রেন নিয়ে কোনো চুক্তিতে তাদের অবজ্ঞা করা হতে পারে এবং ইউরোপীয় নিরাপত্তার ভবিষ্যৎ নিয়ে তাদের কোনো মতামত নেওয়া হবে না।জার্মানির পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী আনালেনা বেরবক বলেছেন,ডোনাল্ড ট্রাম্পের ভ্লাদিমির পুতিনের সঙ্গে ফোনালাপ "আচমকা" ছিল, যদিও প্রেসিডেন্ট ট্রাম্প কয়েক মাস ধরে যুদ্ধের দ্রুত সমাপ্তি চাচ্ছিলেন।যুক্তরাজ্যের জন হিলি বলেছেন, "ইউক্রেন ছাড়া ইউক্রেন নিয়ে কোনো আলোচনা হতে পারে না।"
