৮০০ টাকা ছুঁয়েছে গরুর মাংসের কেজি। ধাপে ধাপে বাড়িয়ে দেয়া হচ্ছে দাম। গবেষণা সংস্থা সিপিডি বলছে, মুদ্রার মান বিবেচনায় নিলে বিশ্বে সবচেয়ে বেশি দামে গরুর মাংস বিক্রি হয় বাংলাদেশে। বলা হচ্ছে, চাহিদার তুলনায় যোগান কম এবং গো-খাদ্যের সংকটে বাড়ছে গরুর দাম। ভারত থেকে আমদানি বন্ধ হওয়াও সংকটের জন্য দায়ী। তবে সরকারের তরফ থেকে দাবি করা হয়, পশুতে স্বয়ংসম্পূর্ণ বাংলাদেশ। মূল্য নিয়ন্ত্রণে কার্যকর কোন পদক্ষেপ নেই বললেই চলে।
