이 영상을 만든 이유는 미국인이 외국어를 못한다고 지적하기 위한 것이 아니라
(당연히 외국어를 잘 하는 미국인도 있습니다!)
미국에 있었던 언어차별의 역사를 환기하고
왜 미국인이 외국어를 잘 못하는지, 왜 어떤 미국인은 외국어에 보수적인 태도를 취하는지
여러분의 이해를 조금이나마 돕기 위해서입니다.
추가로 여러분의 주위에 미국인 친구(혹은 외국인 친구)가 있다면 한국말을 잘 배울 수 있게 용기를 주라고 말해주고 싶어요.
