In this lesson, you will learn how to shift any parabola vertically along the y-axis by modifying the basic equation of a parabola.
All quadratic functions can be shifted vertically by adding a constant term on the right hand side of the equation. This term can also be moved to the left side of the equation.
Here we plot several parabolas and look a the table of values to understand why adding a constant term can shift a parabola or any other quadratic function vertically along the y-axis.
