Homemade Naan Bread (with Yeast)
🧂 Ingredients (makes 4-5 pieces):
* 2¼ tsp (1 packet) active dry yeast
* 1 tsp sugar
* ½ cup warm water (not hot)
* 2½–3 cups all-purpose flour
* ¼ cup plain yogurt
* ¼ cup milk
* 2 tbsp oil (vegetable or olive)
* 1 tsp salt
* Optional: melted butter or ghee + chopped garlic or herbs for brushing

👩‍🍳 Instructions:
1. Activate the yeastIn a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 10 minutes until foamy.
2. Mix the doughIn a large bowl, combine flour (start with 2½ cups), salt, yogurt, milk, oil, and the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
3. Knead the doughKnead on a floured surface for about 6–8 minutes until soft and elastic. Add more flour if too sticky.
4. Let it risePlace the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1–1.5 hours, until doubled in size.
5. Divide and rollPunch down the dough, divide it into 4 balls. Roll each ball into a teardrop or oval shape, about ¼ inch thick.
6. Bake the naanBake the naan in pre-heated oven at 350 degrees for about 15-20 minutes.
7. Optional: Add finishing touchesBrush with melted butter or ghee, and sprinkle with garlic, chopped cilantro, or sesame seeds if desired.

❄️ Tips:
* You can freeze cooked naan for up to 2 months.
* For no yeast version, substitute 1 tsp baking powder and ½ tsp baking soda for yeast, and skip the rising time.
