This Bible study devotional covers 1 Samuel 27-31. In this passage, While David continues to act like a king, Saul devolves into an even more pitiful ruler. God refuses to speak to him. Desperate, he seeks help from an outlawed witch and asks her to summon the dead prophet Samuel for help.
As always, we are committed to showing you how to see the good news of the Gospel in every passage of Scripture. In 1 Samuel 27-31, we see that while we are desperate for answers from anywhere other than God, God’s word comes to us in Jesus. Divine life and guidance aren’t found in tea leaves or divination but in hearing God’s words and keeping them.
