10 Abstract sketches improvised mark making techniques
These sketches work with various materials (chalk, charcoal, conte pencils) In monochrome and colour and each sketch has been filmed in real time with time allowed for paint to dry. It's a great exercise to try when you are struggling with creative ideas and it can help expand your mark making skills. Great thing to try on a rainy day, like so often here in the UK.
I want try to show that the creative process doesn't have to end with an amazing piece of work, these are like warm up exercises that can lead on to something much more ambitious. It's a good way to inspire ideas and get those creative juices flowing.

All sketches approx 5 x 7 inches on 250 gsm rough surface paper all have been filmed in real time but when paint or ink is used I have allowed time for drying out. All work is sprayed with a suitable fixative once completed.
