Anchorage is the northernmost city in the U.S. with a population of over 100,000. Alaska can receive up to 22 hours of daylight during the summer. We visited Anchorage in mid August.
This was our first time visiting the "Last Frontier" and was full of adventure. We explored places in town, as well as a few hour drives. The highlights include hiking in Denali State Park, a glacier boat tour from Seward, Alaska into Kenai Fjords National Park, salmon fishing on the Kenai River, and riding jet skis to stunning glaciers of Blackstone Bay in the Whittier, Alaska wilderness.
