There are many things that the USA does exceptionally well. But there are also many things that could be improved. In this video I list 10 things that Sweden does better than America. Sweden is actually a much more democratic country than the US according to the Democracy Index. Sweden is at place 4 while the US is way down there on place 29. - Work/life balance is much better in Sweden. Sure, Americans may earn the big bucks, but the work culture leaves a lot to be desired. - Shopping in the US is a chore, because you never pay what it says on the sticker. There's local taxes and state taxes and other kind of weird add-ons all the time. In Sweden you pay exactly what it says on the sticker. - And speaking of paying what it says on the bill, tipping in Ameria is completely bonkers. Sweden doesn't have the same tipping culture - thankfully. - Sweden has a pretty well-established social safety net. America...does not. - The Nordics is one of the most gender-equal places in the world, and Sweden is no exception. The US does not compare particularly favorable in comparison. - American prudeness is well-known. Show a little bit of skin and everyone freaks out. That's definitely not the same in Sweden. - Sweden's taxes may be pretty high, but they serve an excellent purpose. And that's a good thing, in my view. - I feel ashamed to mention it, but mass shootings is unfortunately something that America has a fair bit of. Sweden is starting to catch up (regretfully), but it's still far off. - Finally, the last point that I wanted to bring up is Sweden's fika culture. Not just our vastly superior cinnamon buns - also the concept itself.
