Root rot: it's the result of the death of the root system, which then starts to break down and rot. Suffocation, acidic media and pathogens can affect severely an orchid's roots. Temperature stress: Too hot or too cold, never a good environment for orchids. Heat stress, as well as cold stress can affect orchid health, lead to sunburn or infections.
