LET'S PLANT!
EP 104 - These are the common pests and diseases affecting succulents
One of the most frequently asked questions on this channel is how I deal with pests and diseases on my plants. For the longest time I've also been responding with the answer "I don't want to waste time so I prefer going right for systemics". With so many solutions out there, I think it would be fair to explain what each pesticide or fungicide does and this might help understand why I prefer one method over another.
In this episode we go through most of the commercially available pesticides and fungicides and look at the most common active ingredients in their formulation and see what it does.
We will also discuss the commonly occurring pests and diseases and see which class of pesticides or fungicides would be effective for them.
In the end, we all have different preferences and different techniques so this video is all about educating everyone what each active ingredient does. The goal is to make everyone better informed and know which tool is good enough for which job.
I have made lots of readings and research on the matter and as it stands the video is half an hour long even after chopping out lots of content, so I'm leaving you with a couple of blog posts to accompany the information I shared on this video. If you're interested in viewing my notes and doing your own further reading, here's a couple of links:
