11 Days Solo Camping in the Yukon Wilderness - E.10 - Floatplane Pick-Up & Bear Prints:
Looking at my topographic maps on the morning of Day-10, I realized I’d gone over 90kms the day before. I now had 30kms to make it to Taco Bar where my floatplane would pick me up if I make it there on time. I was on the Peel River and not long into my paddle that day I looked up river to see another group of canoeists. A float plane was at Taco Bar picking up a group of paddlers that’d come down the Wind River and one of them recognized me as a YouTuber as I climbed out of the canoe. I un outfitted my canoe in preparation for the float plane, set up my tent and got a fire going to bool water for pasta with dehydrated meat sauce that my wife made. It was a relaxing evening. I find some very fresh bear tracks behind my campsite the next day and a float plane came to pick up another group that’d come down the Wind….clearly the wind is a much more well traveled river than the Bonnet Plume. Anyways, I was able to jump on their flight to get out back to Mayo and called it a trip. What an adventure!
