This fish has been a 3-year dream in the making. I've spent countless hours, pedaling hundreds of kilometers chasing this species of fish. And at last, the moment has arrived - on Saturday, 30 November 2024, I landed a 110lb/50kg yellowfin tuna on my kayak. These fish aren't overly common in New Zealand, travelling down our coastlines for briefs periods during the year. When I heard they were being caught off the Bay of Islands, of course I had to have a crack. A 4am start, and 4 hours of pedaling later, and the rest is history. Enjoy!
