25歲的曹芷屏，大學畢業後回到馬祖最南端的東莒老家，成為島上少數的返鄉青年。她和夥伴做地方創生，也陪伴爸媽。
芷屏的姊姊們都已經結婚，離開東莒，連男友跟好友們也遠在台灣。島上人口外流很嚴重，年輕人幾乎都到台灣工作了。
這裡沒有菜市場，大海，就是馬祖人的冰箱。想吃什麼就自己動手，撿貝類、做紅糟。芷屏的爸爸深愛東莒，即使生病需要定期就醫，他仍打算一輩子住在這裡。
「我們比你住在台灣的人幸福多了！」
芷屏的爸媽是彼此的第二春，媽媽和前妻的女兒處得好嗎？剛嫁到馬祖時，旁人的閒話和小孩的氣話曾讓她受傷，對待親生女兒芷屏也更嚴格。
如今，爸媽依賴著回家的小女兒，卻也暗自擔憂耽誤了她的發展。

Like most parents on outlying islands, Uncle Rong and his wife have watched all their kids leave for the mainland in search of work to build a better life. To entice their youngest daughter Jhih-ping to settle down in her hometown, the outlying island of Dongju, Uncle Rong has built her a brand-new B&B. This is Jhih-ping’s third year back home after graduating from college. She loves island life but maintaining a long-distance relationship with her boyfriend is taking its toll. In today’s episode, we meet 25-year-old Jhih-ping, as she finds herself torn between her aging parents and her boyfriend. Jhih-ping only planned to come home for a while to help with the family B&B, but with her father’s sudden health deterioration, can she bear to leave? In her heart of hearts, she wants to settle down and raise kids on Dongju, but her boyfriend is dead set on living in Taiwan, so what will happen? Will she realize her dream life on this idyllic little island, or will she face the fate of all her peers and be forced to leave?
