The Mutable Instruments Plaits module for Eurorack is truly an Oscillator work-horse - and with Firmware 1.2 it got even better. If you are already subscribed to my channel, you know it has become almost an obsession.... but, isn't that what Eurorack is generally? ;).
The basis for this was the original Cheat Sheet which describes all the controls of ALL 24 models on the firmware 1.2 version of the Plaits. That's not the recipes - but it's a good start to quickly remember the controls of the 24 modes/models.

I began keeping track of some sound designs that I wanted to recall later - so figured I'd start sharing those here. These aren't really "Patches", as I never change the connections to other modules nor do I use any modulation to achieve the sounds. That's why I call this "Recipes" - as it's really just the Plaits settings themselves... like a bunch cooking recipes with all the same ingredients, but different amounts of each :)
This video is the first of a series (if there's enough interest) - where I'm introducing some sound design recipes - first covering the FIRST 4 MODELS OF THE RED SET OF OSCILLATORS.

So this video doesn't even require an upgrade to firmware 1.2 ... but soon I'll get to the Orange set, which only available on that new firmware.
Soon I will publish a full page/sheet of ongoing recipes for this and other modules - If I can keep up the discipline of recording the settings for all the sound effects.
Look for a complete list of Patch Recipes for these and more sounds - coming SOON on

If you’re curious about the actual Patch connections and source of trigger and pitch CV, here’s the quick description:
Clock: Pam’s to Plaits Trig and to TipTop z8000 sequencer clock (16 step).
Sequence: TipTop Z8000 16 step (practically random) into TipTop QuantiZer, into Plaits Pitch V/Oct input.
Plaits OUT to mixer to Sono Abitus output module.
(Aux is patched but silenced in this video, as it was mostly noisy and didn’t add well in most recipes)
Other patch cables are plugged into Pam’s and the second plaits in the video, but none are actively producing audio or modulation in these examples.
