This is a portion from the recording of the famous June 11th 1927 NBC network broadcast of the celebration in Washington DC when President Calvin Coolidge honored Charles Lindbergh for his famous trans-Atlantic flight.
The radio is my 1925 Atwater Kent model 20c playing through a 1925 Music Master loud speaker horn. It is very likely the person who purchased this radio in or around 1925 would have heard this broadcast on this very radio receiver. I would suspect that almost all of the radios in the US at the time were tuned into this broadcast.
As the song goes; “Lucky Lindy up in the sky in a little plane of his own”.
In 1927 he was the hero of the day.
