1959 Cadillac Series 62 Coupe - Amazing Survivor - AZ Car - Same Owner for 40 Years! SOLD! Introduction and History: Presenting a magnificent 1959 Cadillac Series 62 Coupe, finished in its original Gotham Gold with a Dover White roof and a Fawn Mojave Cloth interior. This car is a true survivor—remarkably preserved and unmolested, with much of its originality intact. Garage-kept in Arizona for the past 40 years, it has been driven just 3,000 miles since 1992 and reflects the care of a long-term owner who cherished this piece of American automotive history. The car underwent one repaint in 1989 in its original colors, with the roof paint believed to be original, plus all original paint in the jams. The interior is mostly original, with the seats recently restored using correct materials from SMS Fabrics to maintain its authenticity. With its numbers-matching 390ci V8 rebuilt in 2023, this Cadillac is not only a visual masterpiece but also a smooth and reliable cruiser. Highlights: Unrestored survivor: Mostly original, unmolested example of a 1959 Cadillac. Arizona-owned for 40 years: Garage-kept and sparingly driven. Believed to be Only 105K Original Miles Gorgeous color combination: Gotham Gold with Dover White roof and Fawn Mojave Cloth interior. Matching-numbers drivetrain: Rebuilt 390ci V8 with 500 miles since the rebuild. Original details intact: From excellent original weather stripping to gorgeous original chrome and trim. Inside the trunk is all original: Original trunk material, spare tire, jack, and jack instructions. Functional gauges and courtesy lights. Options and Equipment: Original 390ci V8 engine. Automatic transmission. Power windows (all functional). Working original AM radio. Power steering. Power brakes. Whitewall radial tires. Known Flaws: Minor flaws in the paint, with touched-up stone chips on the front of the hood and some scratches on the right front fender. One small ding in the roof. Power antenna motor works, but the mast does not raise. Clock is non-functional. Appears to be the original windshield, which has a few minor stone chips. Condition: Exterior: The body is straight as an arrow, with all original panels showing exceptional fit and alignment. The paint shows wonderfully with one repaint of the Gotham Gold and the Dover white roof appears to be all original paint. It also retains its original paint in the door jams and in the trunk as well as the original weather stripping still in great condition which is crazy. The chrome and trim are phenomenal, with no pitting and virtually no flaws. The original anodizing on both the front and rear grilles is spectacular—some of the best you’ll find. The 1989 repaint still presents beautifully, with minor patina and well-done touch-ups. Interior: The mostly original interior looks wonderful, retaining its original carpet, door panels, dash, and headliner. The seats have been reupholstered using the correct OEM materials from SMS Fabrics, blending perfectly with the car's original details. The chrome on the dash and gauge cluster remains as bright and shiny as the day it was new. Inside the trunk is completely original and intact. Mechanical: The original 390ci engine was rebuilt in 2023 and has only 500 miles since. The carburetor has been rebuilt, and a new fuel tank and sending unit were installed. The car runs and drives as a 1959 Cadillac should, with smooth suspension and a tight drivetrain reflecting its low mileage and careful maintenance. Underside: The underside is solid and basically untouched, with no evidence of repair work. It is 99% rust-free, with two small areas to note: minor blistering on the inner passenger-side rocker and a small blister under the right rear quarter where the fender skirt meets the body. These areas are very small but mentioned here for full disclosure. Ownership History: This Cadillac has spent the last 40 years in Arizona with a single owner who treated it as a prized possession. It was always garage-kept, driven sparingly, and maintained with an emphasis on preservation rather than modification. Survivor cars with such long-term ownership histories are increasingly rare, making this Cadillac a true standout. Closing Summary: This 1959 Cadillac Series 62 Coupe is a remarkable example of a mostly original survivor. Its stunning color combination, originality, and careful preservation make it a collector’s dream or an ideal cruiser for someone who appreciates the charm of an untouched classic. Survivor cars like this are becoming harder to find, especially in this condition. Contact Information: If you have any questions, please call Bobby at 480-226-4018.
