ദക്ഷിണ പാകിസ്താനിലെ സിന്ധ് പ്രൊവിൻസിൽ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന ബാദിൻ നഗരത്തിനു തെക്കു വശത്തുള്ള പാക് വ്യോമസേനയുടെ ബഹറം റഡാർ കോംപ്ലക്സ് ഒബ്സെർവർമാർ അപ്പോൾ അന്നേ ദിവസത്തെ തങ്ങളുടെ പകൽ ഡ്യൂട്ടി ആരംഭിച്ചതേ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നുള്ളു. അതി രൂക്ഷമായ ഇന്ത്യ -പാകിസ്ഥാൻ യുദ്ധം തുടങ്ങിയിട്ട് അന്നേക്ക് ഒന്നര മാസം പിന്നിട്ടിരുന്നതിനാലും കരയുദ്ധത്തിലും ,വ്യോമയുദ്ധത്തിലും പാക് സൈന്യത്തിനു തുടക്കം മുതൽക്കേ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന മുൻതൂക്കം നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടു കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്ന് വാർത്തകൾ വന്നു കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നതിനാലും പതിവിൽ കൂടുതൽ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥർ ആയിരുന്നു അവിടെ നിയോഗിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നത്. പാകിസ്ഥാൻ വ്യോമ സേനയുടെ ഏറ്റവും തന്ത്രപ്രധാനമായ മൂന്നു റഡാറുകൾ സ്ഥാപിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരുന്ന ഇവിടെ അത് കൊണ്ട് തന്നെ അസംഖ്യം വിമാന വേധ തോക്കുകളാണ് സംരക്ഷണ കവചം ഒരുക്കിയിരുന്നതും. പെട്ടെന്ന് അങ്ങകലെ ചക്രവാളത്തിൽ നിന്ന് പൊട്ടുകൾ പോലെ തോന്നിക്കുന്ന ആറു വസ്തുക്കൾ അതിവേഗത്തിൽ തങ്ങളെ സമീപിക്കുന്നതായി കണ്ട റഡാർ ഒബ്സർവർമാർ ഉടൻ തന്നെ ടവറിനു കുറച്ചു ദൂരം മാറി സ്ഥാപിച്ചിരുന്ന PAF ആൻറ്റി എയർക്രഫ്റ്റ് ഗണ്ണർ മാർക്ക് റെഡ് അലർട് സന്ദേശം കൈമാറി. എന്നാൽ ഈ സന്ദേശം അവർക്ക് ലഭിക്കുന്നതിന് മുൻപേ തന്നെ പൊട്ടുകളിൽ നിന്നും വിമാനങ്ങളായി രൂപാന്തരം പ്രാപിച്ച ഈ വസ്തുക്കൾ മിന്നൽ പിണരുകളെ പോലെ താഴേക്ക് താണു പറന്നു വന്നു ഒരു അതിശക്ത ആക്രമണമാണ് ഈ റഡാർ കോംപ്ലെക്സിന് നേർക്ക് നടത്തിയത് . വലുപ്പമേറിയ ഗ്രാവിറ്റി ബോംബുകളും ,എയർ ടു ഗ്രൗണ്ട് റോക്കറ്റുകളും ഉപയോഗിച്ച് നടത്തിയ ഈ ആക്രമണം ,ബാദിനിലെ റഡാർ ഡോമുകളെയും ,ആൻറ്റി എയർക്രാഫ്റ്റ് ഗൺ ബാറ്ററികളെയും വൻ അഗ്നിഗോളമാക്കിയാണ് മാറ്റിയത്. അനന്തരം ബഹ്റം മരുഭൂമിയെ വലം വെച്ച ഈ വിമാനങ്ങൾ നേരെ വടക്കു ദിശയിലേക്ക് നീങ്ങിയ ശേഷം ഇന്ത്യൻ അതിർത്തിക്കുള്ളിലേക്ക് രക്ഷപ്പെട്ടു. എന്താണ് അവിടെ സംഭവിച്ചതെന്നോ ,എന്താണ് തങ്ങൾ അവിടെ കണ്ടു കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നതെന്നോ ബഹ്റാമിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന ദൃക്‌സാക്ഷികൾക്ക് ആർക്കും മനസ്സിലായില്ല. എന്നാൽ ദിവസങ്ങൾക്ക് മുന്നേ തങ്ങൾക്ക് കനത്ത നഷ്ടങ്ങൾ സമ്മാനിച്ച വലിയൊരു ഭീഷണിയെ ഉന്മൂലനം ചെയ്യാൻ ഇന്ത്യൻ വ്യോമസേന നടത്തിയ ഒരു അത്യഗ്രൻ തിരിച്ചടിയായിരുന്നു ഇതെന്ന് അവർ അറിഞ്ഞത് ഈ ആക്രമണത്തെ പാക് റേഡിയോ

September 21, 1965. Time 7.45 am.
Observers at the Baharam Radar Complex of the Pakistan Air Force, south of the city of Badin in the Sindh province of southern Pakistan, had just begun their day duty for the day. Since it had been a month and a half since the start of the fierce India-Pakistan war and news was coming that the Pakistani army was losing its superiority in land and air war, more officers than usual were assigned there. Three of the most strategic radars of the Pakistan Air Force were installed here, and because of that, countless anti-aircraft guns were provided for protection. Suddenly, the radar observers saw six blob-like objects approaching them at high speed from the far horizon and immediately relayed a red alert message to the PAF anti-aircraft gunner Mark, who was stationed a short distance away from the tower. But before they could receive this message, these objects, which transformed from spots to planes, flew down like lightning bolts and launched a powerful attack on this radar complex. This attack, which was carried out using large gravity bombs and air-to-ground rockets, turned the radar domes and anti-aircraft gun batteries of Badin into huge fireballs. After circling the Bahram Desert, these planes headed straight north and escaped into the Indian border. None of the eyewitnesses in Bahram understood what happened there or what they were seeing there. But what they learned was that this was a desperate strike by the Indian Air Force to eliminate a major threat that had inflicted heavy losses on them days before, and Pakistan radio reported the attack.
