This is the 2nd moto of the 1975 Livermore Trans-AMA. Smith, Semics, West, DiStefano, Mosier and Lackey battled for top American. Late in this moto, DeCoster was injured when his works Suzuki broke in half at the triple clamp over the 70mph straightaway jump. The Suzuki mechanics quickly hid the broken works bike under a tarp in a team box van. His face took the brunt of the crash, sending him to the hospital for emergency facial surgery.
