Join Bob Symes-Schutzmann for three special model railway themed editions of the hobby series, Model World.

In the first edition, Bob asks what are the advantages and disadvantages of the various model 'gauges', and how do you set about planning a model railway? with studio guests Don Boreham and Bert White.

In the second programme, Bob asks Jack Kine to demonstrate some of the finer points of track laying - including how to build and paint a realistic world to surround your tracks, and how to easily construct your own model trees and shrubbery, before Fleetwood Shawe discusses the different track types and how to modify and mount them. These techniques are then put to the test with the stage-by-stage construction of a OO gauge layout based on Horsted Keynes Station.

In the third programmes, Bob quizzes Stewart Hine about the best way to wire up a track layout, and gets Robert Orminston-Chant to demonstrate how to build a model locomotive from various types of kits. The finishing touches are added to the layout based on the Horsted Keynes station on the Bluebell Railway. Finally, Bob looks at some ambitious steam-powered outdoor model railways.
