"Walls that were once adorned with political slogans are now the advertising spaces for the latest groups." This edition of Something Else - produced by young people from Northern Ireland - satirises an outsider's idea of life in the troubled city of Belfast. In the real Belfast, the city's punk scene is thriving, giving kids a respite from the endless sectarian violence and perhaps even a sense of hope for the future. As punk music rapidly falls out of mainstream fashion elsewhere, could Belfast be its last bastion? Originally broadcast 19 January, 1980.
