I bought this 1980 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am with a locked up 301 engine. Prior to the video I got it unlocked and running, but it had no oil pressure. A friend of mine then told me about a 1977 Pontiac Grand Prix 400/TH400 car that he had for sale. I bought it and put the engine in the Trans Am. In this video, I go over what's needed to swap the engine from the goofy and tired 301 to a more common, desirable, and powerful engine such as a 400. All was done on a shoestring budget, with the most expensive part of the equation being the complete Grand Prix for $1,000. Overall I'm really pleased with how the swap turned out. I still have some things to tie up, but the car is extremely responsive and does great donuts!
