In June of 1982, the Showboat Hotel, Casino, and Bowling Center hosted the championship round of the PBA National Doubles event. In the opening match, the team of Steve Fehr and David White take on the doubles team of Mike Steinbach and Bill Spigner. The winner of the opening match faces the team of Sam Zurich and Nelson Burton Jr. The winner of the second match faces the team of Alvin Lou and Bob Handley.
