1枚の基板に3つのゲームを収め、CPシステムの機能を限界まで使用した。というふれこみで登場したのが、この「ワンダー3」。それぞれのゲーム内容は、ファンタジックなアクションゲームの「ルースターズ」、そして「ルースターズ」の続編にあたる横スクロールシューティングゲーム「チャリオット」、「ペンゴ」に似たかわいらしいパズルゲームの「ドンプル」。これだけの内容を詰め込んだにもかかわらず、それほどヒットすることはなかった。
ストーリー:
（ルースターズ）
オレの名はルー、相棒の名はシバ、俺たちは世界をまたにかける冒険家だ。ある夜、幻のカードを持った一人のじいさんが俺たちのもとを訪ねた。俺たちにチャリオットとかいう宝を手に入れてみないかと言うんだ。チャリオットとは、空を自由に飛びまわる乗り物らしく、そのチャリオットの放つ聖なる光は妖魔の呪いから人々を救い幸福に導いてくれるらしい。人助けには興味はないが、空を自由に飛びまわれる乗り物ってのはおもしろそうだ。 しかし、こいつを手に入れるには、妖魔と一戦まじえなければならない。おもしろくなってきやがった。「いくぞ、シバ･･････。」

Wonder 3 was originally released in May 1991 in Japan. It is known outside Japan as "Three Wonders [CP-S No. 16]".
The main character of the action game (Roosters) appears as a striker character (Lou) in "Marvel vs. Capcom - Clash of Super Heroes".
The roar that the bosses make when they die is sampled from 'Return of the Jedi' - it's the bellow that Jabba the Hutt makes when Bib Fortuna rudely awakens him to the arrival of Luke Skywalker in his throne room.
Pony Canyon / Scitron released a limited-edition soundtrack album for this game (Captain Commando : G.S.M. Capcom 5 - PCCB-00083) on 21/03/1992.
