Video Not Working? Fix It Now

In this video I will go over ONE possible cause for a 90s era GM Delco Electronics radio to not play Compact Discs (CDs) and report "Err" on the display in Chevy GMC and Holden trucks and vans. In this particular case the problem is caused by an internal failure to properly seek the laser across the CD due to either binding of the tracking mechanism or debris obstructing the lens, affecting the lasers ability to read the encoded digital music data correctly. This all presumes you have eliminated the obvious primary reasons for this kind of error, which are a scratched or defective CD, upside down CD, moisture on the CD, or that you are trying to play a CD-R / MP3 content you made on your home computer (which these older technology CD players can't handle reliably). The radio I am showing in the video is the original Chevrolet dealer installed GM 15766343 for a 1998 Chevrolet truck, but all of the radios in the year range of 1995 thru 2002 of the following makes and models should be the same, or very similar, in their disassembly and approach to this maintenance repair: 1995 - 2002 Chevrolet Silverado Chevrolet Cheyenne & GMC Sierra 1995 - 2002 Chevrolet Suburban Chevrolet Tahoe & GMC Yukon 1996 - 2005 Chevrolet Astro & GMC Safari 1996 - 2000 Chevrolet Express & GMC Savana 1999 - 2002 Cadillac Escalade All of the following Delco radio part numbers should be SIMILAR to the CD player mechanism I've shown in this video as well: 15071233, 15071234, 15071628, 15763279, 15763131, 15764358, 15765006, 15769357, 16218925, 16240065, 16255455, 9383075, 9375915, 9375905, 16265895 across years 1995 1996 1997 1998 1999 2000 2001 2002 2003 2004 and 2005. *The eBay and Amazon search links below are paid links, for which I may be compensated and earn a commission, if you choose to buy the parts and tools shown in this video thru them:* If you just want to buy a replacement radio instead of repairing, try here for all of the above GM Delco part numbers: https://ebay.us/BrW9Wq _If I've saved you some $$ here, consider some coins for the coffee tip-jar!_ https://ko-fi.com/drshock Chapters: 0:00 - Problem overview 0:28 - Dash disassembly 1:19 - Radio removal 2:00 - Radio disassembly 7:55 - CD player removal & inspection 8:56 - Cleaning & lubrication 14:37 - Reassembly & reinstallation 15:45 - Retest #drshock #radiorepair #chevytrucks #cheyenne _Disclaimer: DrShock, the alias for the human content creator for this YouTube channel, is not responsible for any damages, injuries, losses, or liabilities associated with any repairs, upgrades, or maintenance performed on yours, or any other, vehicle whatsoever.
