Two coaching legends who, despite rumors to the contrary, did not coach in the first Orange Bowl game, face off in the last Orange Bowl game to be played in the venerable but far too aged Orange Bowl Stadium. FSU Coach Bobby Bowden will try to win his tenth consecutive bowl game and Lou Holtz will try to win Notre Dame's first bowl game since 1990. Holtz has the tougher chore, as starting QB Ron Powlus was injured in the Irish' last regular season game. QB Danny Kanell leads the quick strike offense of the Seminoles. While Holtz deadpanned that his team was undermanned and devoid of talent, Notre Dame's emotion turned this game into a classic. Sit back and celebrate the final Orange Bowl game ever to be played in its vintage stadium.
